Bleh. So I am living at my sister Rachel's house for the summer. I love it because I have freedom and everything but I have no food. I have a really weird eating schedule and because there is usually such a long time in between when I eat I feel sick. For example, I went to a friends house for a party tonight and since I had just got off work I hadn't had dinner yet so I had smores for dinner. Bad choice because I might vomit right now. The only thing that sounds consistently good is soda (diet doc pepper) because it's bubbly and makes my stomach feel so much better. I drank that after I worked out today because, like I said, its the only thing that sounds good. I felt like a fat lard though drinking pop right after a good workout. :) All I want is my old stomach back where I could eat tons and feel fine and some carrots because those sound really good right now.

Thats not my name!
So my friend recently asked me if my parents got my name from a popular 60's song. I said," no, my other brother thought of the name, why?" Apparently this song was in the top 10 during the 60's. I was busting up laughing during the whole thing because the lyrics are pretty cheesy and it's a pretty boring song but it's fun to know that there is a song with my name in it!
Here are they lyrics:
- Artist: Johnny Mathis
- peak Billboard position # 6 in 1962
- Words and Music by Paul Vance and Leon Carr
Gina, Gina, I kissed you once and then
I felt so wonderful, so very wonderful
Let's do it over again
Gina (Gina), Gina (Gina), I can't remember when
I've ever felt a kiss that made me feel like this
Let's do it over again
Look at you, oh, look at you
So warm, so sweet, so shy
Look at me, oh, look at me
I can't believe that I'm such a lucky guy
To have Gina, Gina all for my very own
It's much too wonderful, so very wonderful
To know that Gina is mine alone
Oh, look at you, oh, look at you
So warm, so sweet, so shy
Look at me, oh, look at me
I can't believe that I'm such a lucky guy
To have Gina (Gina), Gina (Gina) all for my very own
It's much too wonderful, so very wonderful
To know that Gina is mine (Gina is mine)

Forever Young
So I was riding my bike home today (I ride my bike everywhere because I don't have a car) and as I passed my Papa (grandpa's) house I saw that he was out there on the porch taking a little nap. I decided to sit and talk with him for a while. Best decision of the day. That old man is amazing! We were talking just like I would talk to a friend. We talked about golfing, horse riding, scouting, school and our family. It was really cool to hear him say how much he loves my family and how proud of his son, my dad, he is. It was cool to talk to him about how it feels to grow old and see your kids have kids who have kids, to lose the freedom to drive, and energy. Thank goodness that I am still young! I think I will definitely need to hang out with him a lot more. He does only live down the street so it really won't be that hard.

What a difference...
So you know that song, "What a difference a day makes"? Well if you don't, you should first look it up and give it a good listen. I would like to change the words around to "What a difference a shave makes". Holy cow, all day I was walking around and it felt like I had cactus legs. I of course did not shower this morning to shave them because it is finals week and who really showers when you have to cram and study right? Well apparently me because I stayed up until midnight studying for History of Creativity and when I got back home, I really needed to study for D&C but I wanted to watch the Bachelorette. My logic late at night is clearly not the best because I proceeded to watch it (by the way, I love both the Bens but Ashley needs to stop talking about her dang feelings so much and live it up- she's in Thailand with 11 hotties, come one now). Anyways, once I was finally done watching it, I studied for an hour and a half, woke up four hours later and studied some more. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I did well. We will see. But back to my legs. I have shaved them now and it feels so good! Kinda like a babies bottom. Kinda wish I still had my baby bottom smooth skin- that could be creepy though. On another happy note- I am DONE with finals!! Whoo! Nine months of school and now for a two month break. Life is wonderful. :)

Nearer my God to Thee
I am amazed by the power of good music. I have been listening to the BYU Vocal Point version of "Nearer My God to Thee" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9UsDl5gSuo&feature=related )for the past hour and I have felt so much peace. It tells me three things. The first is that I am so thankful for those who have to talent and share it so I can enjoy it. Second, that music has a very strong influence over who I am and what I feel. It is nice to know that if I want to feel the spirit, one thing I can do is simply turn on a good song and I can feel peace. Third, I know the church is true. It was fast and testimony meeting today and I didn't get up but I do know the church is true. Everything about it just makes sense and it has helped me become who I am today so I am extremely thankful I was raised in it. Also, because I am in the church and because I was lucky enough to come to BYU, I have met the most amazing friends. I had such a fun time with them this weekend!

Loser like me
Since Spring term is sadly only 3 weeks from being over, I have been doing some reflecting...and these pictures pretty much sum up my first year at college: super excited for a new experience, lonely and home-sick, stressed out, happy trying new things, and finally, victorious. So much has changed and I have experienced so much in the past year and I am beyond thankful for the friends I have made along the way and the new people I meet I am becoming friends with. I am pretty sure that if I had shown my "first few months at college self" the friends I would make and how much I would end up loving BYU and The Brittany Apartments, I really don't think I would have believed myself. Life is back on track, life is good, people are so nice, and I am so blessed.

Roller-coaster ride
I went on a roller coaster ride today! Not really, but pretty much- I think I felt almost every emotion possible today.
Woke up: good night sleep, feeling good and refrehed
Classes: Content, I really like the friends I have made in Physical science
Library: Sleepy..leading to a nice nap in the library
Chilling at home: Frustrated over inconsiderate people I thought wouldn't bother me and a falling through of plans. Rejection for being rejected.
Run: I was slower than usual and I was kinda breaking down because I was stressed out and had that feeling (that Ive been getting a lot lately) that I am not doing enough with my life. But then I found a swing set and found that ten minutes swinging really cleared my head. I left feeling so much stronger and felt like I could tackle pretty much everything thrown at me
Home: Super happy because I got asked on a date for Saturday to watch rugby- cute boy plus rugby? yes please.
Phone call with mis amigos: Excitement because those plans that fell through...well they're happening! We're going to CALI this Wednesday!
Now it's time for my ultimate Frisbee game. If we win I will be able to add exhaustion and victory to my roller coaster today. If we lose, then I can add exhaustion an disappointment. Let's hope for the first huh?
